Music at Holy Trinity

Beautiful music is one of the most magnificent and delightful presents God has given us. – Martin Luther

Music is held in high regard by Lutherans, especially at Holy Trinity. The congregation supports an active music program.

Joyful Noise Choir

The Joyful Noise Choir is for singers grades 1-5. They focus on the fundamentals of music reading, including rhythm and sight-singing using solfege. They will also learn the basics of worship leadership through music, putting that into practice several times throughout the semester. They rehearse Sundays 12:45-1:30, with a pizza lunch at 12:00 (immediately following the 11:00 service).

Youth Choir

The Youth Choir rehearses on Sundays immediately following the 11:00 service, from 12:10-12:45. This group does not rehearse on weeks when another youth event happens right after church.

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir (SATB) rehearses each Wednesday 7:00-8:15pm. This group sings most Sundays, alternating between the 8:30 and 11:00 services. All are welcome to join, regardless of musical background and availability.

Handbell Choir

HTLC has a 3-octave set of handbells. We currently have one handbell choir that rehearses Thursdays 7:00-8:00 in the conference room of the worship center. Email Laura if you are interested in participating in handbells at HTLC or serving as a substitute.

Instrumentalists and Singers

A group of instrumentalists (currently piano, guitar, bass, percussion, and cello) leads the 8:30 worship services. New instruments would be welcome in that mix. There is also a small group of singers that occasionally offers prelude and offering music at that service along with the instrumentalists. They rehearse on Saturday mornings.

Holy Trinity’s music is led by a 7’ Mason & Hamlin model BB and Casavant opus #3507.

A stoplist for the Casavant is available here.
