Sunday Morning Worship - Wednesday Evening Worship

Sunday Schedule

8:30 a.m. Holy Communion

• Hymnody from all times and all places
• "Now The Feast" (Marty Haugen), "The Chicago Folk Service" and other settings of the liturgy are used
• Holy Communion is celebrated every Sunday
• A Children's Sermon is given
• Contemporary music ensemble leads worship through songs, psalms, and other liturgical music
• Singing groups, soloists, and/or instrumentalists share their music
• The Cherub Choir and Joyful Noise children's choirs sing occasionally
• A nursery is available with a child care provider
• A cry-room is available where parents can both see and hear the service
• Coffee/Fellowship Hour (Luther's Café) follows the service

9:45 a.m. Sunday School

• 3 years old - 5th grade = Bible lessons, crafts, and a music component; there are two teachers per classroom and an average class size of ten; background checks are done on all who work with children and youth
• 6th, 7th and 8th grade = Confirmation - studying the fundamental tenants of the Christian faith and focusing on the contributions of Martin Luther
• High school = theme based studies with a concentration on living the Christian faith
• Lutheran Campus Ministry class offered fall and spring semesters
• Adult = one to two month theme-based studies, ongoing Bible Study, discipleship classes, "Christians in Action" group led by lay leaders and the pastors; weekly Bible study for men and women

11:00 a.m. Holy Communion

• Various liturgical resources are used but LBW musical settings of Holy Communion are most frequently employed
• Hymnody from all times and all places
• Holy Communion is celebrated every Sunday
• A Children's Sermon is given
• The Chancel Choir leads worship through singing songs, psalms, and liturgical music
• A nursery is available with a child care provider
• A cry-room is available where parents can both see and hear the service
• The Cherub Choir and Joyful Noise children's choirs sing occasionally
• Come early for the Coffee/Fellowship Hour (Luther's Café)

Wednesday Evening

5:30 p.m. Lutheran Campus Ministry Contemporary Service

• Holy Communion is celebrated every Wednesday during the academic school year
• The service is followed by the sharing of a home-cooked meal
