Lutheran Campus Ministry

Our congregation was founded over 50 years ago to serve the needs of students at the University of North Carolina. Although we have grown to include ministries for all people in the community, Lutheran Campus Ministry remains a central focus of our outreach efforts.

Campus Ministry Programs

Food, folks, fun, and faith well describes Lutheran Campus Ministry here at Chapel Hill. Many of the activities and events we engage in have those elements. We have food, especially Wednesday evenings as we gather for Holy Communion (5:30 p.m.) and a home cooked meal (6:15 p.m.). The folks here are much like you in that they are living away from home and looking for what is important in life and what role God and the church play in all this. Fun happens when people who are filled with joy gather together with a sharing and caring spirit. Retreats, conferences, cookouts, games, and special evenings out are just some of the activities planned. Faith is strengthened and nurtured through Bible studies, discussion/reflection groups, prayers, mission trips and service opportunities. As an integral part of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, LCM connects undergraduate and graduate students with staff, faculty and people of all ages. We offer a Campus Center at the church that is open for you to come and make yourself feel at home, for we want to be your faith home in Chapel Hill. The kitchen, sofa, TV, fireplace, and pastor are here for you. We look forward to having you to share in our food, folks, fun, and faith.

Our ministry is more a Lutheran ministry to this campus than a minstry to campus Lutherans. While we have a majority of Lutherans, we also minister and invite people of other denominations to be a part of our Campus Fellowship. You are welcome to participate in any or all of our LCM activities and to serve our Lord through these ministries.
